My Blog Hop Turn and a Giveaway!

I want to make sure and Thank Madame Samm and Jane for such a fun hop!
Thank you to Colonial Needle for being our Sponsor.
And Cyndi I can't wait to watch your tutorials and do your pattern.
And Samm's patterns are darling! I just had a new Grand daughter that will be getting something with that little girl stitched on it.
I really was excited when Samm asked me to design 2 patterns for the hop!
The cottage and Nana's chair were so fun to design.
But I have to say I had the perfect idea for Nana's Chair...
a sewing basket to sit next to mine!

I started with a basket and 3 fabrics I liked.

And I was off making an apron for the basket.

I measured from the basket top to the table for the bottom row and cut a strip 2 inches shorter for the row on top.

I ironed each strip and ironed a 1/4 inch hem on the top ruffle. And sewed rick rack on the right side.
I made binding for the edge of the bottom ruffle.

I gathered the 2 strips together and pinned them to a strip that matched the binding edge of the bottom row.

It was just like making an apron for a basket...LOL

Before sewing I slid in a crochet edging.

Wrapped it around the basket and hot glued into place.
I added batting in the top and sewed the stitchery in place for the lid.

I had made the pin cushion that matched a while ago.

All done and ready to sew!

I know its weird seeing one that isn't red work from me....

But it matched the fabric!

Here is the Cottage I am getting ready to quilt it into a wall hanging.

You can get these patterns and see my other ones at:

If you add me to your blog roll and leave me a message I will send you a "Free" Pattern!
If I am already on your blog roll Leave me a message and let me know.
Make sure you are not a "No Reply" blogger so I can find your email address to send the pattern!

Here is the rest of weeks schedule!

Debbie-Your designs are fantastic and I love the picture of Kelly stitching. It reminds me of when I taught boys to embroider and they were pleasantly surprised how much they liked it. Unfortunately Home Economics has been eliminated in most school districts in CA -their excuse is budget, but I never knew a principal without a "pet project" that they somehow found the money for! I enjoy embroidery and have some projects in mind for the immediate future. Thanks for sharing.
