Easy Fast Coasters

This coaster is so easy peasy you won't believe it.
I was at a retreat and one of the girls showed us how to do
these. I thought they would be a great idea to make with kids
and great for all the online swaps we do.
Great Stash buster too.

What you will need is 7 5 X 5 pieces of fabric.
I just used a charm pack.
And you will need a hexie ruler, I used Lori Holt's
Hexie Half because its what I have and it worked perfect
and with less cutting. If you need one The Fat Quarter Shop carries them.

Fold your charm fabric in half and line the dotted lines
on the bottom of the ruler up with the folded edge.

Cut the 3 sides.

Open it up and it should look just like this.
Now lay the one you want for the bottom face up
on the table.

Fold and iron your remaining 6 in half.
Lay the folded one on top just like the above picture.
you are lining the bottom hexie and the folded one together
so when you look at it, one half is 1 color and the other half is another color.

Lay your next hexie on the next edge.
You are going to do this on all 6 sides of the bottom hexie.

See how you are just going around.

This is easy for the first 4.

When you get to the 5th one you will need to lift the first one
and lay it under.

It will look like this.

Then the sixth one goes under the 1st one too.
But it is on top of the 5th one.

Now it should look like this and you are ready
to sew a 1/4 inch seam all the way around it.

When you are all done sewing it will look like this.
From the middle you can turn it to the right sides.
It will turn very easy.

And will look like this when turned.
you can top stitch it if you want or leave it alone.
I decided to just leave mine.
Because the center opens you can put the bottom of wine
glasses in it when you have company. If you make them all different
everyone will know which one is these.

Or a nice mug of root beer works well too!

I Love Making Vinyl bags

I love making vinyl bags and I have several little
stitcheries I couldn't decide what to do with. So I decide to add them to my bags.

These are Shepherd Bush designs.
I love Shepherd bush ! They were from the Shepherd Fold group and I already had enough scissor fobs and pincushions so I added them here.

I have to say this is my favorite bag now.
Oh and did I mention my husband is the one who stitched them.
He is the best stitch er ever!

Clothespin Bag is A Must!!

In making a clothes pin bag there are a few rules.

1- all fabrics have to be darling.

2- find or make and easy pattern that looks hard.

3- if it has an apron embroidery always makes it pop!

4- if it needs buttons, use the cutest ones you can find.

5- if your bag is darling your neighbor will pay more attention to the bag rather than notice you need to brush your hair

The end results will be so worth it!

I Love A Cute Bag

I decide I need to make a new bag so I searched the Internet for a free pattern...

I finally found one at

ReannaLily Designs

I knew I want to use more of my fabric by j wrecker Frisch

I just love this line as you can tell from my sewing room!

I love this bag but it turns out pretty big.

I need another one just a bit smaller.

And I think it needs a zipper.

Retreat P1

I just came back from the Lori Holt
Farm Girl Vintage Retreat
Sponsored by
Thimbles and Threads Quilt Shop.
I had the best time!

There was a trunk show the first night and this is one of my favorites.
The amount of work and effort Lori and Thimbles and Threads did for this retreat was not only amazing but far beyond expectation.

We learned this block and Lori had a quilt already made to show us.
Amazing!
we had so much fun and every day was new surprise.

Kind of a blurry picture but this table runner is so cute!
you will want to make 2.
I hope you are doing the "Farm Girl Friday sew alongs",
So of what we did could go along with that.

This was where I was sewing.
There were so many cute feather weights,
I think I might need 1 more in a different color.

This was so much fun to go see old and new sewing friends and attend an amazing retreat!
We all enjoyed every day and Lori did a great job and really put a lot and time and effort into each day.
Come back later for more retreat fun.
